Go Laurel Highlands (formerly the Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau) has opened its Fayette County Tourism Grant Program for the 2021-22 cycle. Applications are now available on the Go Laurel Highlands website, with a submission deadline of October 1.
The program has awarded more than $5 million to various local and regional organizations since its inception in 2008. Its purpose is to increase tourism and enhance visitors' experiences in Fayette County.
As part of a memorandum of understanding between the Fayette County Board of Commissioners and Go Laurel Highlands, the program is funded through a portion of the county's hotel room rental excise tax.
