Mission Statement

The mission of the Board of Commissioners is to provide efficient services in a cost effective manner to all County residents, businesses and other governmental agencies.

Goal

It is the goal of the Fayette County Commissioners to: 

  • Ensure public access to information in simple and understandable formats
  • Organize the County's technology to make it accessible to all departments and residents
  • Develop stronger working relations with the local governments and municipalities
  • Improve the County hiring process by more effective determination of employee duties and qualifications for County positions

The Commissioners serve on the Prison Board, Salary Board, Election Board and Retirement Board.

Board and Committee Vacancies

Industrial Development Authority - There is currently one vacancy on the Industrial Development Authority.  If you would like to be considered for appointment to this Authority, please submit a letter of interest via email to jambrose@fayettepa.org or via snail mail to Joe Ambrose, Commissioners' Office, 61 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA  15401.  All letters of interest must be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29. 2019.

Transportation Demand Management Committee/Strategic Action Plan - The Commissioners are seeking five or six individuals to participate on the Transportation Demand Management Committee/Strategic Action Plan for the 10-county region served by the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC). This is a stakeholder committee representing a wide array of major employers, including public agencies, academic institutions, major venues, and local governments.
