Coronavirus Update - Courthouse Closed to the General Public

Until further notice, the Fayette County Courthouse will be closed to the general public, effective 8:00 a.m. Friday, March 20, with the exception of the Courts.

The Courts will be providing all essential operations as mandated by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. The Courts and Court-related offices, which include the Prothonotary, Clerk of Courts, and Register of Wills, will continue to provide essential services as outlined by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. The web page for the Administrative Offices of the Fayette County Courts can be found on our County website (click here), and on the Fayette County Bar Association website (click here), with further details and instructions on how to access the Court including the Magisterial Judge offices.

­­­As we strive to maintain the health and well-being of the residents of Fayette County, we ask anyone needing to contact Fayette County offices do so via phone (724-430-1200), email, or through our website.

Meeting Notice

Be advised that the Agenda Meeting of the Fayette County Commissioners, scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, 2020 has been cancelled.

The meeting is rescheduled for Thursday, March 19, 2020, immediately preceding the County Commissioners Regular Meeting (10:00 a.m.) in the Public Service Building located at 24 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

As a precautionary health and safety measure due to the Coronavirus and an effort to reduce the attendance exposure, all non-essential items, proclamations, etc. are hereby postponed until further notice; this includes postponing action on the proposed Second Amendment Ordinance.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Board of Commissioners is to provide efficient services in a cost effective manner to all County residents, businesses and other governmental agencies.


It is the goal of the Fayette County Commissioners to: 

  • Ensure public access to information in simple and understandable formats
  • Organize the County's technology to make it accessible to all departments and residents
  • Develop stronger working relations with the local governments and municipalities
  • Improve the County hiring process by more effective determination of employee duties and qualifications for County positions


The Commissioners serve on the Prison Board, Salary Board, Election Board and Retirement Board.
