The mission of the Fayette County Buildings and Grounds Department is to ensure a safe and clean environment for the employees to work and the citizens to utilize.
The Buildings and Grounds Department is directly responsible for providing cleaning and maintenance services to the Courthouse, Public Service Building and Federal Building.
The Buildings and Grounds Department is indirectly responsible for providing cleaning and maintenance services to the Children and Youth Service building, the Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration building and the FACT Transit Center.
In addition to the above named buildings, the Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of the three County-owned parks (Dunlap Creek Park, Jacobs Creek Park, German-Masontown Park) either directly, through contract services or with the assistance of the county park boards.
Finally, the Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for the care and maintenance of the County Cemetery in conjunction with the volunteers and Coroner’s Office.
